The cherry blossoms of Miyajima, Matsuyama castle and Arashiyama were wonderful. The Takayama Spring Festival was spectacular. |

Japan - Autumn (585 photos in 45 albums) | | | | Starting in Aomori, in the north of Honshu, and working down to Kagoshima in Kyushu, I was following the trails of the Autumn leaves. As usual, I was hitching, and it was great to meet so many wonderful people, especially in Kyushu. I occasionally stayed with friends, but sometimes kind strangers put me up for a night or two. These are the photos of Japanese Autumn, and Kyushu. |
Japan - Winter (576 photos in 46 albums) | | | | The winter albums contain some beautiful cranes in Kyushu and Hokkaido, Sapporo's snow festival, the Ice floes off Abashiri and a world heritage site in Gifu. There are also some of the Christmas and New Year festival photos. |
Ireland (200 photos in 14 albums) | | | | A few snaps from the country where my parents now live and I grew up. |
Canada (638 photos in 64 albums) | | | | A hitchhiking tour from Halifax to Vancouver. I spent three months hitching across Canada, meeting lots of interesting people on the way, and getting to some fabulous places. There are modern cities, quiet islands, great mountains and lakes, and cute animals for you to enjoy. |
Travel 99 (208 photos in 15 albums) | | | | In 1999, I travelled from Japan, where I had been working for five years, back to my home in Cambridge, England. I took the slow route - hitchhiking through Asia, bought a second-hand digital camera and a second-hand computer, and took lots of photos. The aim was to see the beautiful places in south-east Asia, culminating in the Taj Mahal. There are lots of interesting tales in the diaries. |
Scotland (13 photos in 1 albums) | | | | I was born in Scotland (many years ago), and lived there for only five years. So, I went to Edinburgh for my Hogmany 1999, and Crail for New Year's day 2000. I also spent a two weeks in February 2000 in Scotland. There are only a few photos here. I promise to return someday to do my country justice. |
Korea (75 photos in 5 albums) | | | | I spent one week in Korea in February, and plan to spend another three weeks here in May 2002. In February, I had a lot of computer work to catch up on, so only got some photos of Gyeongju and Busan. |
